New 3DCS Tutorial - Measure Generator

Measure Generator

Measure Generator allows the user to quickly create multiple measurements with multiple Points.

Measure Generator - can be useful for creating multiple Measurements at once, which can improve model efficiency and organization.

Measure Generator is also helpful when adding measures to large models, making it easier to navigate and design measurements amongst large numbers of points, features, and parts.

Tolerance Stack Training Course

Upcoming Online Public training opening

January 6-10, 2025

5 Zoom sessions

4 hours per day, between 10AM – 2PM CET (GMT+02:00)

Training will be given in English

Price per person: $895

Course Description

Tolerance stack analysis is actually the study of the mutual relationship between the allowed deviation limits between parts and assemblies. Stack computation improves understanding of the design solution, allows early identification of problems starting while still in the design stage, forms the basis for decision making and is used to optimize tolerances to reduce costs and enhance benefit.

The course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical know-how to perform stack computation and includes heavy practical exercises of generic problems, exercise and full solution of real problems (the possibility of applying exercises to parts and assemblies of your company is contingent on previous submission of drawings and assemblies). This is an advanced GD&T course.

Course Content

  • Introduction and tolerance-stack computation definitions
  • Principles and rules of stack computation
  • Tolerance diagram
  • Tolerance stack – casting and concentricity (part, assembly)
  • Tolerance stack – profile (part, assembly)
  • Tolerance stack – position
  • Tolerance stack – position with material conditions – bonus and shift (part, assembly)
  • Tolerance stack – form (Feature, FOS, Feature-of-Size)
  • Tolerance stack – orientation (Feature, FOS)
  • Integrated tolerance stack computation (part, assembly)
  • Application of tolerance stack computation to tolerance optimization
  • Summary practical exercise

The Impact of Electric Vehicles on Automotive Manufacturing: The Role of First-Time Quality, Digital Twins, and Dimensional Engineering

Unlike internal combustion engine vehicles, EVs rely on complex battery systems, electric powertrains, and sophisticated software that must work seamlessly together.

As electric vehicles (EVs) continue to revolutionize the automotive industry, the pressure on manufacturers to refine their processes and achieve first-time quality has never been greater. The rapid adoption of EVs, driven by consumer demand for more sustainable and technologically advanced transportation options, is forcing manufacturers to rethink their production strategies. In this new landscape, the ultimate goal is to establish a one-piece flow in production—a manufacturing process where each unit moves through the production line without interruptions or backtracking. Achieving this level of efficiency and precision at every stage of production is critical, not just to meet consumer expectations, but also to set new benchmarks in a rapidly evolving industry.

CENIT Simulation Day - A Virtual Event Focused on Current Trends in Simulia and 3DCS Simulation Software

Held November 29, 2024

The CENIT User Day for SIMULIA and 3DCS will be held as a virtual live event again this year. The event will feature informative presentations focused on current simulation topics.

The program will be divided into two separate tracks, offering an engaging and dynamic lineup of presentations on multidisciplinary simulation topics and a comprehensive approach to quality. Both users and those interested in SIMULIA and 3DCS products will gain valuable updates and detailed insights into the latest features and solutions.

The keynote session, where we will demonstrate the impact of production-related geometric deviations on component stress, using the example of combining 3DCS with SIMULIA.

DCS Partner ETA Runs Professional Training Seminar in Heifei, China

For 3 days, more than 40 professionals from 20 companies across China came to Hefei.

Participating in this hands on training course were professionals from across the automotive spectrum including passenger car, medium and heavy truck, electric drive, HUD, transmission, lamps, suspension, non-standard equipment, as well as supporting industries.

"I am very grateful for the 3DCS offline training course held by ETA China in Hefei. Our company has introduced and put into use 3DCS for many years, and has personally experienced the strong guarantee and efficiency improvement of 3DCS for early tolerance demonstration and later dimensional quality control. I hope to participate in more offline technical activities of ETA in the future to promote the understanding and learning of 3DCS technology trends and the achievements of colleagues and peers."
