CONTROL EXHIBITION: A MUST SEE FIRST MEETING

Metrologic Group and DCS will be taking the opportunity to highlight their synergies at the Control Messe Exhibition, to be held in Stuttgart (Germany) from May 6 through 9. Metrologic Group and DCS, along with ZeroTouch Metrology (part of Sandvik Group), will be together in a single booth showcasing the connected solution. This gives visitors the chance to browse through the end-to-end inspection software solution.

DISCOVER OUR BOOTH: THE END-TO-END MANUFACTURING INSPECTION PROCESS

The End-to-End Manufacturing solution provided by Metrologic - DCS consists of 4 key components:

  1. Optimization and Planning
  2. Programming and Validation
  3. Inspection and Measurement
  4. Monitoring and Problem Solving

1. Optimization and Planning with Planner X4 and 3DCS

Using 3DCS in the CAD platform, users begin by optimizing their design for manufacture and assembly through Monte Carlo simulation and analysis. This provides real insight into the specifications as well as the assembly process, allowing users to generate a robust model that can be used as the master source for specifications downstream.

Planner X4 utilizes these specifications to create inspection plans correlated to the CAD model. This is particularly important during production where inspection data can be used in the CAD model to root cause production issues, and to test solutions digitally.

These systems additionally highlight key characteristics that need to be monitored during production, and provide early analysis reports that identify risk factors in production for key decision making.

2. Off-line Programming and Validation with Silma X4 and QDM

After the design has been optimized and inspection plans created, these are then utilized by QDM to prepare measurement plans. These plans feed into Silma X4 to generate off-line inspection programs that can be simulated and validated before bringing them to the machine. This allows for virtual optimization improving efficiency and precision while reducing any risks to equipment or requiring measurement devices to be brought offline.

3. Inspection and Measurement with Metrolog X4

Metrolog X4 provides the most robust controls for inspection equipment. As a universal product capable of interfacing with all measurement equipment (CMMs, arms, laser trackers, optical equipment, etc.) Metrolog X4 allows companies to use all of their equipment, regardless of manufacturer, to its fullest potential. With the ability to analyze the results of each part in detail, users can see exactly how their production is doing compared to specifications.

After measuring, QDM collects all of the measurement data on a massive scale, in real time. This means that users can view trends, SPC reports, real-time dashboards, and stay aware of any possible issues in production.

4. Monitoring and Problem Solving with Manager Suite and the 3DCS QDM solution

With the combination of Manger Suite and QDM, users have a suite of interactive software tools, enabling measurement data to be visualized and transformed into useful information for decision-making, compliance, and continuous improvement. If nonconformance or production problems occur, inspection data can be loaded back into the CAD model for root-cause analysis and solution validation, greatly reducing the need for trial and error while keeping production lines operating.

SYNERGIES WITH ZEROTOUCH METROLOGY
