DCS DIGEST - October Edition
New 3DCS Version 8.1 Webinar
October is already well underway. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the webinar for October needs to be postponed. We're excited to show you the new updates to Compliant Modeler, DOE, and Black Box Modeling. A new date will be announced as soon as it is available.
Along with the new version of 3DCS Variation Analyst, our developers have been hard at work and are proud to roll out the new QDMWEB QualityScan. This lets you upload scanned data and view color maps on your parts, see SPC reports and analysis from the data, and manage all of your scanning tasks.

Dimensional Control Systems has released QDMWEB QualityScan with new features that support fast, visual analysis and management of scanned data.
Dimensional Control Systems (DCS) is proud to announce the launch of QDMWEB QualityScan Phase II, providing users the ability to visualize and review Dimensional quality data with 3D cad on the cloud, and review and analyze corporate wide scan data in one interface. These features, combined with the power of QDMWEB QI to access quality data instantly, provide a complete quality management solution for manufacturers of all sizes.
QDMWEB QI manufacturing quality management system gives access to quality information from anywhere, at any time, instantly. Using Quality Intelligence, QDMWEB QI automates your quality collection and reporting, helping manufacturers reduce their costs with real-time monitoring and powerful SPC tools.
The new version of QDMWEB QualityScan expands QDMWEB QI to manage, analyze, and report on scanned data using visual 3D CAD, Statistical Process Control, and customizable quality metrics. This expansion provides the ability to view statistics on 3D CAD with SPC charts on demand, and to create localized root cause reports with CAD as a means to bring all stakeholders onto the same page for problem solving, drastically improving the time to find the source of issues and resolve them in manufacturing.

Tolerance Stack Training Course
Upcoming Online Public training opening November 18, 2024*
5 Zoom sessions, 18-22 of November
4 hours per day, between 10AM – 2PM CET (GMT+02:00)
Training will be given in English
Price per person: $895
Course Description
Tolerance stack analysis is actually the study of the mutual relationship between the allowed deviation limits between parts and assemblies. Stack computation improves understanding of the design solution, allows early identification of problems starting while still in the design stage, forms the basis for decision making and is used to optimize tolerances to reduce costs and enhance benefit.
The course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical know-how to perform stack computation and includes heavy practical exercises of generic problems, exercise and full solution of real problems (the possibility of applying exercises to parts and assemblies of your company is contingent on previous submission of drawings and assemblies). This is an advanced GD&T course.
Course Content
- Introduction and tolerance-stack computation definitions
- Principles and rules of stack computation
- Tolerance diagram
- Tolerance stack – casting and concentricity (part, assembly)
- Tolerance stack – profile (part, assembly)
- Tolerance stack – position
- Tolerance stack – position with material conditions – bonus and shift (part, assembly)
- Tolerance stack – form (Feature, FOS, Feature-of-Size)
- Tolerance stack – orientation (Feature, FOS)
- Integrated tolerance stack computation (part, assembly)
- Application of tolerance stack computation to tolerance optimization
- Summary practical exercise

See How the Combination of FEA Analysis and Mechanical Simulation Provide Answers to Suspension System Production
Understanding the intricacies of suspension systems is pivotal for optimizing a vehicle's performance. These systems are the linchpins of vehicular dynamics, directly influencing how a car handles and how comfortable it feels to its occupants. At the core of suspension systems are components such as springs, dampers, and linkages, which include control arms and stabilizer bars. Each of these plays a distinct role in maintaining the vehicle's stability and comfort.
